Seems like limit is not as stated on forums. It is definitely not in thousands, maybe few hundreds. Please have a look into this.

Got a question about it as well, when does limit resets? Only after restart of server?

Absolutely true, but system has been testing now, that's what limit are not corrected. It will be completed soon and more information will be provided.
